In hindsight I'd have probably hung onto my rough eight. His line is so weird though. He was unknown to me until he joined both my tables 15 minutes prior to this hand. He'd already shown down a number of top-tenners in that time - this influenced my decision to break - but I'd forgotten about the time he made a shocking overcall on the river with T8764 against someone who was already pat.

Last night Capoch, who normally plays the nosebleed triple draw games, joined one of my 1/2 tables. He played every hand, betting and raising at every opportunity. He blew off $200 in 12 minutes. That's one small bet in a typical game for him. I nearly left, thinking I wouldn't be able to handle the variance, but then figured he was basically giving out free money and I shouldn't pass up the chance to grab some of it. I did profit by winning just two pots, rivering the nuts and getting dealt number three immediately afterwards, but I gave back that money - and more - after he left.

Badugi breakout

I've had a good weekend online. My bankroll has reached $2838, thanks partly to a $50 bonus I received last night. Yesterday was a winning day at 2/4 badugi but I did it the hard way. There were two tables running in my first session; at 12:14:39 I was dealt 9763, at 12:14:55 (on the other table) I got 9872, and at 12:16:29 I got 7654. Three big pat hands inside two minutes and three times I was outdrawn. The pots were over $200 between them and after that triple whammy I was down over $90. I got out of jail though, booking a small win of $20 after 215 hands. I then won $9 in a five-handed mini-session before falling behind $65 in my last session. I bounced back again to finish that session $84 up after a swingy 112 hands.

I've also got $220 of tournament money which I've accumulated by using FPPs to buy into turbo Sunday Storm satellites, then taking the T$ each time I qualify. I've now built up enough T$ to buy into the WCOOP single draw directly (that's the only event I'm competent enough to play and can actually make) but I'm not sure I fancy the prospect of blowing it all when my pat eight gets outdrawn on the fifth hand. I might try some WCOOP satellites instead.
