Onwards and upwards

My bankroll has just broken through the $500 barrier. Last weekend was a pretty good one even if I couldn't make it into the $215 WCOOP single draw. Only five entered for the $33 satellite - the winner gained a place so there was a $50 overlay. Unfortunately I could only come third. This mini-tournament was a far cry from any of the KCL I'm used to - either the tight 25c/50c cash tables or the passive low-stakes tournaments. This was proper, loose aggressive KCL. It would have been a lot of fun if we weren't so short-stacked. I might give the satellite one more go tomorrow night.

My Sunday night finished with a win in a micro limit badugi tournament. When we got heads-up, I was behind for most of our protracted battle (134 hands), surviving an all-in when my Q8 badugi held up. I gradually clawed my way back. My opponent then survived three all-ins himself before I ended proceedings on my fourth match point.

As I was writing this, I played a single draw hand that I'd rather forget. Here I turn my 10-8-yuck into a bluff after the draw. I didn't stay above $500 for long.

Update: After a half-decent $1/$2 badugi session, my bankroll is now $509. The player to my right in that session is someone I'll have to watch out for. He was capable of cleverly-chosen snows and slow-plays not usually seen at those stakes.
