I've seen rather too much of that pop-up box over the last week. I've had a horror run in badugi. I just dumped another $100 on a 2/4 table, the coup de grâce being the last hand where I called a raise in the big blind five-way with 743, hit the lovely ace of hearts immediately but lost to someone who made 653A on the same draw. Overall I won three of my eleven showdowns. The table is still running and I'm sure it would be profitable for me to play, but it's a sunny day (with virtually no wind - that's almost unheard of in Wellington) and I'd be better off getting outside.

Triple draw is much the same. The whole game seems like a tournament. You might hang around for a while but unless you're very lucky you will lose all your chips eventually.

I picked up Super System 2 from the library. I'm trying to learn stud hi-lo; at the moment it's a black art.

My bankroll is currently $3350 or thereabouts, down from a high of almost $3600. My confidence in poker is down too. I've just got to remind myself where I came from. Here are a couple of stud-8 hands that might give me some confidence. I know it's tiny stakes, but I'm still learning the game at the moment.
